Recapping the year- Fun posts from 2010

I want to wish you all a Happy New Year's! This is a time for reflection. May you have a wonderful end of 2010 and a prosperous New Year in 2011.

My New Year's resolution: To expand my blog topics outside of JJ updates to other issues that catch my attention. (Don't worry, I am sure there will still be plenty of JJ updates too!)

I know that the holidays are a busy time for everyone. But I must say that the past few weekends I have taken time out of our busy schedule for the most important part of my day...naps with JJ. When he starts to get tired, I rock him in his room and watch him drift off. Then I move us to the recliner in our living room for a nap. He takes right around a two hour nap when we snuggle like this vs. a 45 minute nap in his crib.

I know these days are limited and there won't always be time for this, so I don't have one ounce of guilt for taking time to do this.



A friend of mine passed along this poem to me. I think about it when I feel life overwhelming me.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep

Seriously...a gun and a watermelon SCREAM pregnancy to me. Ok, not really. I had a great pregnancy- never feeling like a watermelon OR like I needed a gun.


The second one is all about Auto-correct on phones while texting...and the stupid things they "correct" peoples' texts to. I sat in front of this website, crying because I was laughing so hard.
